Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms, and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries during Lent but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully.

Lent Sessions 2025 for Early & Primary Years

These three sessions continue with the theme: Sowing Hope. Through these Lenten sessions, the animator helps the students understand that during the process of growing, we need to identify what is obstructing us from becoming good people. So, we need to weed out negativity and plant positivity.

Lent in Parishes

Many parish communities hold prayers and celebrations during Lent. Randan.knisja.mt is a website set up by the Archdiocese of Malta. It provides information about spiritual exercises, the schedule of Holy Mass, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation on various dates, including Holy Week.

Reflections during Lent 2025

Walk alongside 40 people who witnessed His Passion—the faithful, the doubters, the ones who ran away, and those who stayed. Each episode—just a few minutes long—brings their stories to life in a fresh, real way, making it easy to reflect wherever you are.

But this isn’t just about them—it’s about you. You are the reason He walked this path. He saw you when He carried the Cross. He died to save you. And just like the people who stood before Him, you have a choice. Are you Peter, struggling between fear and faith? Mary, standing by Him no matter what? Pilate, washing your hands of responsibility?

Join us this Lent for short but powerful daily reflections—quick listens that fit into your day but leave a lasting impact. The Passion of Jesus isn’t just history. It’s happening now, and you are part of it.

The reflections, delivered in Maltese on Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, and our website, will be around seven minutes long and published at 8:00 am. Like, follow, and subscribe to stay updated and receive each reflection as soon as it’s released!
