MissioTfal in Schools around Malta and Gozo

MissioTfal Co-ordinator within Missio Malta, Ms Nancy Camilleri aims to spread the Word of God through missionary animation delivered to them which helps them develop as true missionary witnesses in their local community, schools, and groups they attend. MissioTfal represents the Pontifical Holy Childhood, which is one of the pillars of the Pontifical Mission Society under the responsibility of the Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Engaging online prayer spaces during Skolasajf 2021

Once again, as in previous years, the Spiritual Development in Schools (SDS) has been invited to offer the Prayer Spaces experience to children attending Skolasajf organised by FES.

Moments of empowerment and confidence in the mission of Religious Counsellors in State schools.

On the 1st of July 2021, a group of Religious Counsellors serving in Middle and Secondary state schools met together at the convent of the Discalced Carmelites, Ta’ Xbiex, to share their pastoral mission in the schools where they serve to evaluate this past year while looking ahead for the coming scholastic year. One Church school, one State school, one main aim

This collaborative project was called Everyday Superheroes and saw its start during one of the phone calls to schools between Joseph Degabriele, a pastoral worker from SDS, and Graziella Vassallo Theuma, an assistant head in Żejtun Primary B school. Immediately after, Sarah Mallia, assistant head from the De la Salle Junior Section was approached to join the team.

A Weekly Inspirational Poster during 2020-2021 scholastic year

During this difficult scholastic year marked by Covid-19, the Middle School of St Benedict College shared these inspirational posters. The theme of the posters varies according to the time of year and are in Maltese and English. Thanks to St Benedict Middle School who shared them with us all.

The Spiritual Dynamic in Schools Amid Restrictions

            In these last two months various spiritual activities were held in our schools both in Malta and Gozo. Students share the message of the Pope’s encyclical letter, ‘Fratelli tutti’

On Friday, 23rd October 2020, senior teacher Martin Azzopardi sdc, invited a group of students to embark on a school project studying the encyclical letter of Pope Francis, ‘Fratelli Tutti’ (All Brothers) and share its message with other students. Pope Francis issued the encyclical letter ‘Fratelli Tutti’ on October 3rd and he is addressing his message not only to Christians worldwide but to all humans of good will.

Teacher Martin said that “the aim of this school study project is to make our students reflect upon the Pope’s message in his encyclical letter ‘Fratelli Tutti’ and invite them to put the needs of the poor and marginalised at the centre of their lives”… Read more »
