Advent at Home webinar
The SDS team organised an evening webinar called Advent at Home for parents and caregivers. In this webinar, Ms Mariella Catania explained how to set up different activities to make Advent a quiet time of preparation for Christmas. These activities include spiritual reading, family games, Christmas carol playlists from the internet, preparing a prayer corner and advent wreath using craft materials, understanding the Christmas message by using the Jesse tree and reading the lives of the saints, which are celebrated during Advent… Read more »
The Advent and Christmas season is lived in a very festive and joyful way in the state schools in Malta, celebrate with various festive activities. One can divide the activities into these three sections:

As part of the ongoing collaborations with various entities, Spiritual Development in Schools was invited by Julian and Joanna Sant Fournier from Relationships Are Forever Foundation-Friendship Cards, to attend the Multiplier Event in Malta on Tuesday 15th November 2022.
The aim of the event was to open a transnational discussion between the different partners of the project on the theme of quarrels and conflicts between peers, (from 2 to 18 years), in the context of their life experiences at school… Read more »
On Friday 18th November 2022, Rev Fr Reuben Gauci led three consecutive sessions for the spiritual well-being of kindergarten educators, Year 1, 2, and 3 educators, and Year 4, 5, and 6 educators and SMTs respectively.

The National Literacy Agency, in collaboration with Spiritual Development in Schools, will once again be organising four ‘Soul Speak’ sessions of writing, reading, and reflection for primary children from Year 4 to Year 6 (8-10 years old).

On Tuesday 6th December 2022, a group of Form 4 (Year 10) students at St. Margaret’s College Secondary School Verdala participated in a Eucharistic Adoration session in the school chapel. This adoration session was organized by the School Spiritual Director, Fr Carmelo Spiteri ocd in coordination with the Senior Religion teacher Martin Azzopardi sdc and the R.E. team.

Experiences, both positive and negative create our lives. As Spiritual Development in Schools Team, one of our work experiences was attending together for a Leaders’ Meeting and a conference in Belfast, Ireland. The Leaders’ Meeting took place on Wednesday and Thursday 26th, and 27th of October followed by the 24-7 Prayer International Conference from the 27th to the 30th of October. On Monday, 12th November 2022, a special morning assembly was held in St Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua to commemorate St Margaret Queen of Scots, the College Patron Saint. This commemoration was celebrated by four Form 5 (Year 11) students together with the Religion teacher, Martin Azzopardi sdc.
