Forever memory

Do you remember the day when you received your First Holy Communion? Which was the best moment during the day? What were your feelings when you approached the altar and met Jesus in your heart for the first time? During the celebration of the Eucharist we present the offerings of the bread and wine together with all that we are to the priest, who changes the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ soon after during consecration time.  That moment is the remembrance of Jesus’ deed: giving himself.

  • Find your First Holy Communion picture. Observe it in silence for some time.
  • On a small piece of paper express your feelings and prayer of thanksgiving  to God for the moment you and Jesus met for the first time in your heart.
  • With permission, place the paper in the frame to store your memory forever. Return to it from time to time to help you remember how grateful you should always be for being able to receive often Jesus in the Eucharist.
