During this learning time, all participants will be invited to think of and name someone they know who is feeling unwell. While developing a sense of empathy the participants will be asked to describe how they might be feeling if they had to be instead of that sick person. This will, in turn, lead them to think of ways they can support that person, one of which would be that of praying for him/her own needs at this particular moment.

How to carry out the lesson:
2. Can you think of when you had to go to a doctor like this toy who had to go to Doc Mc Stuffins?
How were you feeling?
Usually, we go to the doctor when we feel unwell.
3. Sometimes, our illness passes quickly, but there are times when it takes longer to heal or times when the doctors are still trying to find a cure
4. Take some time to think of someone you know, who is feeling unwell. It could be a friend, a family member or a neighbour.
5. Use your imagination and try to imagine yourself instead of that person.
How would you be feeling?
What do you think you would really wish for, apart from getting well back soon?
Some sick people would wish to feel loved the way they are, others might wish for the people around them to be more patient with them and understand them more, others might wish to gain back hope while some might wish for their friends and family members to video call them or visit them more often.
6. With the help of an adult, get a fabric plaster and write on it the name of this person who at the moment is feeling sick.
7. Now, hold the fabric plaster with the name of the person written on it dearly in your hands.
8. Close your eyes and say a prayer in your heart for this person. While praying that this person will get better soon, you can also pray to God to give this person something else which you think he/she might wish for.
Example:- Dear God I pray for ____________________ I ask you not only to heal _________________but please I ask you also to show him/her that she/he is loved.
9. Now you can stick the fabric plaster with one of your favourite toys so that it will remind you:
a) of this sick person.
b) to call or visit and spend quality time with him/her.
c) to pray for the wishes and the needs of this person.
