In this prayer space one will think about the death, passion and resurrection of Jesus while taking the time to thank God for this forgiving love.

Equipment: 2 paper plates, 2 butterfly clips, markers, scissors

1Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb. 2She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him. 3Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb. 4And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb; 5and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in. 6Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying, 7and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed. 9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

1Kien l-ewwel jum tal-ġimgħa, filgħodu kmieni kif kien għadu d-dlam, u Marija ta’ Magdala ġiet ħdejn il-qabar u rat il-blata mneħħija mill-qabar. 2Għalhekk telqet tiġri għand Xmun Pietru u għand id-dixxiplu l-ieħor li kien iħobb Ġesù, u qaltilhom: “Qalgħu l-Mulej mill-qabar, u ma nafux fejn qegħduh!” 3Pietru u d-dixxiplu l-ieħor ħarġu u ġew ħdejn il-qabar. 4It-tnejn ġrew flimkien, imma d-dixxiplu l-ieħor ħaffef aktar minn Pietru u laħaq qablu ħdejn il-qabar. 5Tbaxxa, u ra l-faxex tal-għażel imqiegħda hemm, iżda ma daħalx. 6Imbagħad wasal warajh Xmun Pietru, daħal fil-qabar, u ra l-faxex tal-għażel imqiegħda hemm, 7u l-maktur li kien madwar rasu; dan ma kienx mal-faxex, imma mitwi u mqiegħed f’post għalih. 8Imbagħad id-dixxiplu l-ieħor, li kien wasal l-ewwel ħdejn il-qabar, daħal hu wkoll, ra, u emmen. 9Sa dak in-nhar kienu għadhom ma fehmux l-Iskrittura li tgħid li kellu jqum mill-imwiet.

Have you ever wished for something that looked impossible to see or do? Easter is a time to rejoice because, for our God, nothing is impossible. He sent his son Jesus so that through his passion, death, and resurrection, he would pay for our sins, and we could all one day go next to him in Heaven.

Take some time to think of how great our God is. It is so great that on the third day, Jesus won over death.
On one of the paper plates, draw the sign of the cross; on the other, draw a big easter egg.
Cut this paper plate with the Easter egg in half. Stick both halves from the bottom onto the other plate with the cross using the butterfly clips.
Flip open the easter egg plate, and while you look at the cross, thank Jesus so we can start a new life through his passion and resurrection.
