The National Literacy Agency, in collaboration with Spiritual Development in Schools, is organising eleven sessions of storytelling, creative writing and reflection in the programme entitled ‘With Reading and Writing I Find a Beloved Space’ for children aged 8–10 years old.

These sessions of animated reading in Maltese and English from the newly published book ‘Spazju għal Qalbi – Beloved Space’ by author Silvana Cardona will take place in various localities across Malta and Gozo.

These sessions offer an excellent opportunity for children to develop their reading and creative writing skills, and through imaginative and reflective activities, help them connect with their inner selves, express their innermost feelings, and engage in creative expression.

A joyful afternoon at the Amphitheatre, Ta’ Qali, children listened to the story, wrote creatively, and shaped little objects out of playdough to show what they’re grateful for. They also wrote heartfelt prayers on colourful Thankful Ribbons.

We were delighted to welcome illustrator Ms Dorielle Borg, who shared how she brought the big book ‘Kastell fir-Ramel’ to life and guided the children in drawing their very own friendly crab.

A special thank you to the L-Aġenzija Nazzjonali tal-Litteriżmu for gifting each participant a copy of the book Spazju Għal Qalbi. ✨

A beautiful celebration of gratitude, creativity, and imagination!

This event is part of the With Reading and Writing, I find a Beloved Space programme.
