REFLECTION

 

The third Sunday of Advent is known as Gaudete Sunday. It is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy that the faithful seek in times of darkness.

 

BIBLE VERSE

 

Rejoice in the Lord always, Again I will say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)

ACTIVITY

 

Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and breathe deeply for a moment or two. Allow your concerns to move across your mind and wait off to the side for now. Imagine you are floating on a cloud. As you float you see your life, your history of your heart’s journey towards God. You see the people who helped you walk toward God.

 

PRAYER

 

Dear Jesus, thank you for the people who gave me a safe place to be, who listened with great care and attention, who told me the truth even when it was difficult, who introduced me to prayer or worship, or Scripture and those who talked to me about you, your mother Mary or God as a loving parent.
