Forever memory

Do you remember the day when you received your First Holy Communion? Which was the best moment during the day? What were your feelings when you approached the altar and met Jesus in your heart for the first time? During the celebration of the Eucharist we present the offerings of the bread and wine together with all that we are to the priest, who changes the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ soon after during consecration time.  That moment is the remembrance of Jesus’ deed: giving himself.

  • Find your First Holy Communion picture. Observe it in silence for some time.
  • On a small piece of paper write your feeling during that moment you and Jesus met for the first time in your heart. Fold the paper.
  • From the white paper or paperboard, scissor a circle to form the Eucharist and from the yellow one scissor the form of the chalice. Attach them together. On the upper part of the chalice, glue the folded paper with your feeling. Offer it to Jesus by spending some prayer time before the Eucharist (even virtually), or before an image of the crucifix or an icon, or in a corner/place which reminds you of event from the life of Jesus.
