For one special night every October, Notte Bianca lights up the Valletta cityscape with a spectacular celebration that is open to the public free of charge. Valletta’s streets, public spaces, and churches are used in innovative, creative ways thanks to a mix of roaming and site-specific projects.
This year on Saturday 5th October 2019, thanks to the willingness and generosity of the Prayer Spaces team within the Spiritual Development in Schools unit, set up different Prayer Spaces in St James Church, Merchants Street, Valletta as part of the Notte Bianca Valletta 2019 annual arts and culture festival. There were Prayer Spaces for adults related to Shattered Souls, Broken Relations, Wounded Planet, Battlefield Hospital and also for children related to Prayers for the World, Building Friendships Chains, I am Unique and I am a Pencil in God’s Hand.

Participants wrote earnest prayers as they moved from one prayer space to another and reflected on them. They stuck sticky notes on world maps, mirrors and other provided resources.

Thanks also to Missio Malta, festivalgoers and passers-by St James Church, were greeted to enter the church by the angelic voices of the children’s choir Voces Coelestis, led by Ms Robert Zammit Bugeja.
