Prayer Spaces will be setup for catechists
Maltese
The SDS team will set up and animate prayer spaces for catechists at the Capuchin Centre in Kalkara. The session included the prayer space experience and its processing. Then, there was an introductory session about prayer spaces followed by Ms Silvana Cardona and Ms Anne Marie Gatt. The National Literacy Agency supported this Prayer Space session.
The prayer activities set up included:
Jumping for JoyEaster brings joy so in this prayer space one thinks of someone or something that brings joy and makes you happy. |
Lent: Palm HandsInspired from the Palm Sunday procession in this prayer space one is invited to adore and honour God for the qualities that make him trustworthy. |
Broken Heart – PlasterOne is invited to think of those with a broken heart, reflect on what one can do to help, and asked to pray for them. |
The Runners ShoesThis prayer space encourages one to reflect upon those moments one failed to give a helping hand when it was necessary. |
Lent: Love LetterReflecting on how St John describes the immense love God has for us, in this prayer space one is given time to write a love letter to God who is showering us with love. |
Big QuestionsWe all have big questions about life, about God and faith, etc. This prayer activity allows children and young people to express the questions they would like to ask God. It’s really simple and usually one of the favourites. |
Lent: MirrorInspired by the Veronica’s veil, this prayer activity encourages one to identify the positive aspects of oneself as one looks at ones own self-image created on the image of God in a mirror. |
Lent: Pipe Cleaner PeopleInspired by Simon of Cyrene, who was special because he helped Jesus carrying the cross, one reflects and prays for a special person in ones life while creating ‘a pipe cleaner model’. |
Lent: Empty PlateThis prayer space provides one with the opportunity to reflect on greed, whilst relating the topic to Judas Iscariot it invites the particiants to pray for justice and for wisdom and courage in fighting economic-greed. |
Peace GardenThis prayer space encourages one to reflect on peace, whether when one is at peace, where is peace needed or how is peace felt. |
Be Still: Prayer WordDuring this time one is inivted to be still and meditate on ma-ra-na-ta. |
Appreciating NatureDuring this prayer space, one shows gratitude to God for what nature offers. |
