Prayer Spaces will be setup during the Lent retreat for AoM Curia staff

Maltese

During their annual Lent retreat, the SDS team will set up and animate prayer spaces for AoM staff. The National Literacy Agency supported this Prayer Space session.

The prayer activities set up included:

Easter: The Great Commission

During this prayer space one thinks about how with God’s help the world can become a better place.

Broken Deep Inside (Clay)

This prayer space lets one to reflect on one’s own fragilities and to think about the pressures and tensions one gives in to, and to allows time to entrust the pain to God.

Lent: Broken Heart

One is invited to think of those with a broken heart, reflect on what one can do to help, and asked to pray for them.

Be Still: Prayer Word

During this time one is inivted to be still and meditate on ma-ra-na-ta.

Lent: Love Letter

Reflecting on how St John describes the immense love God has for us, in this prayer space one is given time to write a love letter to God who is showering us with love.

Lent: Pipe Cleaner People

Inspired by Simon of Cyrene, who was special because he helped Jesus carrying the cross, one reflects and prays for a special person in ones life while creating ‘a pipe cleaner model’.

Forgiveness Stones

In this prayer space one reflects on the good feeling of letting go and forgiving someone who caused pain.

Lent: Empty Plate

This prayer space provides one with the opportunity to reflect on greed, whilst relating the topic to Judas Iscariot it invites the particiants to pray for justice and for wisdom and courage in fighting economic-greed.

The Runners Shoes

This prayer space encourages one to reflect upon those moments one failed to give a helping hand when it was necessary.

Lent: Mirror

Inspired by the Veronica’s veil, this prayer activity encourages one to identify the positive aspects of oneself as one looks at ones own self-image created on the image of God in a mirror.

Big Questions

We all have big questions about life, about God and faith, etc. This prayer activity allows children and young people to express the questions they would like to ask God. It’s really simple and usually one of the favourites.

Being Brave

This space is to help one think of the situation where bravery is needed and to ask God for courage.
