Students and Educators

Prayer Spaces will be prepared for the students participating in FEE Fest

Maltese and English

The SDS team was thrilled to have participated in the FEE Fest through our interactive and reflective prayer spaces! The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), a global leader in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), hosts this exciting three-day event where students, educators, and parents come together to explore issues surrounding sustainable living and the environment. 🌿🌎

At the heart of this initiative, our prayer spaces provided a unique, spiritual dimension to the fest. We designed these spaces to help participants connect with nature, the world, and each other, fostering environmental consciousness and a deep sense of gratitude, reflection, and care.

Some of the highlighted prayer spaces included:

  1. Appreciating Nature 🦋 – A beautiful way to reflect on the wonders of the earth and say a thank-you prayer for the gifts of nature. 🌻
  2. Pray for the World 🕯 – A space where participants offered prayers for different countries, emphasizing unity and global empathy. 🌍
  3. Empty Plate 🍽 – A reflection on hunger and gratitude for our blessings, encouraging participants to think about those in need.
  4. Refugee’s Backpack 🎒 – A touching moment to pray for refugees and understand their struggles, promoting compassion and kindness.
  5. Cardboard Home 🏠 – Reflecting on homelessness, this station invited prayers for those without shelter, urging us to care for our community.

Appreciating Nature

During this prayer space, one shows gratitude to God for what nature offers.

Pray for the World

This prayer space encourages one to look at the world map and think of family and friends living away and pray for them and their countries.

Empty Plate

Apart from praying for world leaders to be given wisdom and courage to lead fairly, this prayer space also helps one to reflect on living without food due to injustice and economic-greed.

Refugee Backpack

During this prayer space one reflects on refugees – people who leave their countries for good due to varied reasons and what the real essentials in one’s life.

Cardboard Home

During this time one is given time to reflect and pray for people who suffer poverty and are homeless.

Saving Life

In this prayer space, one reflects on saving lives by avoiding plastic and prays for courage to make choices in favour of life.

Relaxing Water

This prayer activity helps one think about worries and stress and let them go into God’s hands.

Happy Earth – Sad Earth

In this prayer space we reflect how we can make a happy world by preserving the environment and reducing pollution and we ask forgiveness for the times when we did not take care of our earth.

Schools across Malta visited these spaces, from St Michael’s to Mater Boni Consilii. Thank you to everyone who participated – together, we made FEE Fest an inspiring, spiritually enriching experience! 🌟

This event is part of the Prayer Spaces programme.
