Planting a Mary Garden – What is it? Why are going to plant a garden?

Resources needed (the RC can prepare them beforehand)

A large pot, soil, any kinds of seeds or plants, and an image of the Virgin Mary

Together with the children stick the image of the Holy Virgin Mary on the pot, and then plant the seeds or plants together.

Prayer

Holy Mary, share with us the love of God and pray for us in all our needs. Amen.

In numerous places, especially Catholic ones you will see an image, a painting or a statue of Mary. The devotion to Mary is a characteristic of the Church of Christ through the ages.

What is the role of a Mother?

After listening to the answers and reflections of the students, explain:

A mother has the responsibility to care for her family by doing the house chores – cooking, cleaning, washing the plates and clothes, and going to work to earn money to educate her children. The main role of a mother is to keep the family together.

While listening to this piece of music and different instruments in unity make beautiful harmony, choose a continent.  On plain paper or on your tablet, write or draw a message to the people on this continent about the beauty of life.

Mary blesses us with her veil.

The teacher prepares a piece of white fabric.

Students pass this fabric from one hand to another over their heads to receive the blessing of the Virgin Mary.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Refer to the Bible quote John 2:5. In the wedding in Cana, she told the servants: “Do whatever he tells you.”
