Welcome

The SLT or any educator who is conducting the assembly will address the students positively saying good morning to all. One can start this assembly with the sign of the cross: “In the name of the Father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”

Introduction

This week we mark an important day – June 12th – world day against child labour – not everyone is lucky to go to school, some children go to work. We are lucky to live our childhood so let us smile, sing and dance about it.

Reflective Thought

Unfortunately, not all the children in the world can be happy and sing like we do. Many children are forced to go to work. While we came to school to have fun learning new things, these children had to wake up early and go to do hard work with no food, for long hours like slaves.

(Here one can show few pictures of children performing child labour)

Prayer

Dear God, we pray that all adults will start to respect childhood. We ask you to send people who will free children so that they can go to school like us.

Prayer

Dear God, we pray that all adults will start to respect childhood. May they see that the lives of children are far more important than money. We ask you to send people who will be strong to take actions to free children and so that they can be kids like us, go to school and have fun learning new things. Amen

Introduction

On June 12th we are made aware of child labour through the world day against child labour. We sometimes complain of having to come to school, but in fact we are very lucky. We are lucky that we are able and free to live our childhood – to come to school, to play and grow. Some children and teens are forced to grow by hard work. Let us think of these children while we listen to this song.

Reflective Thought

The UN has declared 2021 as the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour.
Many are forced to go to work so that they will have food. On the 12th of June, while we came to school these teens had to wake up early and face a hard day of work with no food or protection, for long hours like slaves. Let us be grateful for our freedom, our schools, and the liberty to choose our careers.

Prayer

Dear God, we pray that all adults will start to respect childhood and teenage years. May they see that the lives of children and teens are far more important than money. We ask you to send people who will be strong to take action to free children and teens so that they can be free to go to school and live their lives as they work for their dreams. Amen
