During the weeks of Lent, there were many opportunities in schools to share the power of God’s forgiveness and help the children and young people to understand it and acknowledge that they need to receive God’s mercy. This prayer space activity very helpful to help the students to think about their mistakes and misdeeds and understand better that Jesus not only forgives their sins but also those of the entire world.

Just like the young children, older students also enjoyed this prayer space as it helped them to think about their wrongdoings, writing them onto the paper crosses and putting them face down into the water as a symbol that Jesus washes away our sins. Students prayed earnestly to God to help them repent and change certain attitudes. Wherever it was possible, the children and young people had the opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation.
