Watch

Reflective Thought

The story shows us that it is not easy to be a refugee. Our job is to welcome them and show them love and support.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, we pray for all refugees to find a safe place and for us to have a warm heart towards them. Amen

Introduction

This week on the 20th of June we think more of the refugees. Let us have a look at this video to understand better the situations of the refugees.

Watch

Reflective Thought

While watching the video 75 people have been forced from their home, let alone in a full day. How would that make you feel if you were forced to go live somewhere else? It is our role as humans and Christians, to welcome these people, help them feel at home and safe.

Prayer

Dear God, please help us to open our hearts to make refugees feel welcome and safe wherever they are. Help refugees to never give up and stay strong through their journeys. Amen

Introduction

The 20th of June marks world refugee day. Let us watch this video that shows the real difficulties faced by the refugees when they are forced out of their homes.

Watch

Reflective Thought

This message was given by the secretary general of the United Nations who works a lot towards helping the people who are forced out of their home and seek refuge in other countries. However, the UN cannot work on itself, we need to do our part. We need to open our hearts with warmth and welcome them as our neighbours and our friends. We need to empathise with them and do our very best to help them feel safe and voice our support for their safety.

Prayer

Dear God, we pray for the world leaders and for us to give a helping hand and an open heart to those forced out of their countries, for the refugees to be given strength and courage through their tough journeys, and for us all to be a comforting neighbour to them. Amen
