We have surely heard the word ‘peace’ many times. What is peace? How can we live in peace? (Some students may volunteer to give an answer to these questions). Let’s watch this video together:

Reflective Thought

As we have seen in the video, we can live peacefully in many different ways. We can find a few quiet moments by ourselves, we can spend time with our friends and family, read and discover what peace really is and spend some time enjoying the countryside and nature. We can go and relax by the seaside or in a garden. Each one of us must be committed to bring peace in the world. We can find peace in those people who are always serene no matter what happens to them in life. If we learn to live peacefully in simple ways, we will bring peace to others and create harmony between us.

Prayer

We ask you Lord to make the environment in our school, our families, in Malta and Gozo as well as in all the world more peaceful, so we can all build a more loving and caring world. Amen.

Introduction

Everyone wishes to live peacefully. Sometimes we find it difficult to describe exactly what peace is. Peace means loving everyone and doing good to others in different ways. Let us watch this video together:

Reflective Thought

Most students in the video said that they believed they were living in peace when they were happy. Others said that peace means respect and love for others. If we do our best to live this way, we will be cultivating peace between us. There are many ways in which we can strengthen the peace between us. We can help each other. We can also use well the information we find about peace from books and social media. Let us all commit to making the world a peaceful place.

Prayer

God our Father, we pray for peace in the world, especially in the countries or places where there is disagreement and conflict. Help us to do our best to bring peace in the world and in our life. Amen.

Reflective Thought

As we have just seen in the video, true peace is not attained through what we do or what we achieve but from our inner self. It is important to take care of ourselves by spending some time in quiet reflection every day or by spending time with our family and friends. It also helps to read and discover more about peace even through the good and moderate use of social media. All this helps us to be at peace with ourselves and to pass this peace on to whoever we meet.

Prayer

Merciful God, be with us always so we will keep the peace in all we think, say and do, Amen.
