Welcome

The Head, SLT, or educator who is administering the assembly welcomes the students by saying good morning. One can start the assembly with the sign of the cross or a minute in silence.

Reflection

We are during the month of November. In November we think about our relatives and friends that are no longer with us. They are in Heaven. In Heaven together with our relatives there are people who loved God in their lives and now they are praying and helping us from there. Let us sing together:

Song

Oh! When the Saints Go Marching In

Prayer

Dear Lord, give eternal rest to our relatives and friends. May we never stop thinking about them. Amen.

Reflection

We are all God’s children. God leads us to his home. Some relatives, friends, and people we know are already in Heaven resting in peace. Let us make a minute of silence and think of them.

Minute of silence.

Song

Prayer

Eternal rest grant unto them, (students can mention a relative of theirs who passed away), O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Top 10 Rest in Peace Quotes dedicated to loved ones

Reflection

In our life, we encounter many individuals who leave lasting imprints on our hearts. They may be family members, friends, or even saints who have gone before us. When we cherish their lives, and embrace the love they shared and their wisdom, we continue to live love through their memories which inspire our lives to be filled with love.

One may think of a dear deceased loved one and celebrate the beauty of his or her life by creating a memory box. One may gather meaningful items such as photographs, cards, tickets, drawings, trinkets, or souvenirs that hold sentimental value. One may also write quotes or phrases that this person used to say or tell a funny story in memory of them.

Prayer

Dear God, as we remember family members, friends, or even saints who have gone before us, we thank you for the gift of memory. Help us to embrace their values and virtues, allowing their memory to inspire us to live lives filled with compassion, kindness, and selflessness.
