Welcome

The head, SLT or educator who is administering the assembly welcomes the students by saying good morning. One can start the assembly with the sign of the cross or a minute in silence.

Introduction

Have you ever seen a beehive? How would the bees be?  Yes, that’s right, the bees in the hive stay next to each other all the time, to help each other to make honey and then we can buy it from the shop to eat it or drink it. Let’s watch this video together:

Reflective Thought

In the classroom, we should also be like bees. Everyone does his or her activity well so that together we create something beautiful which can be enjoyed by all. The bees teach us that everyone plays an important role.

Prayer

O Lord, help to understand that everyone is important and that we are all brothers and sisters. Amen.

Introduction

What do bees do in their hive? All of them work together yet each one on its own work; they produce honey which is then enjoyed by them and us. Let’s watch this video together:

Reflective Thought

Bees teach us how wonderful it is to be together, to work together. Wherever there is a large group working together, there is always a person to lead. Bees have their queen bee, which is bigger than the worker bees; its shape is slightly different from the other bees. It leads them and each one listens to it, so that in the hive there is always order. In our classroom, we should imitate the bees which means we listen to what the teacher tells us and do our work well. In this way, we will be like bees in the hive doing everything together.

Prayer

O Lord, continue to take care of us, to be more in unity, to listen to each other and just like the bees, may we understand the importance of every one of us to become brothers and sisters. Amen.

Introduction

Bees in the hive give us an impression of community. What is a community? It is people who are constantly agreeing and working together. Our class is a community and so is the whole school. Let’s watch the bees:

Reflective Thought

The bees pollinate the flowers and give them substances. This gesture teaches us how to be together in class and give each other the substance, like when we help each other in every possible way. Living as a community means recognizing each other’s needs, understanding one another, and always putting the others’ needs first. Bees produce honey for themselves and for us as we too benefit from it. Bees teach us that in whatever we do, there will always be others who benefit from this. This fills us with energy so that we do not hesitate to do whatever we can.

Prayer

O Lord, teach us to imitate the bees by doing our duty well for our own good and the benefit of our brothers and sisters. Amen.

Introduction

A beehive is in the shape of a hexagon. Do you know why? Let us see why:

Reflective Thought

As we have seen, the beehive has a hexagonal shape because it is the most space-saving shape and the hexagons are joined together just like the working bees inside it. This is an example of how we should be in the classroom and at school; always together where everyone does his or her part well and carefully for the benefit of all and to see the goodness in everyone even though nobody is perfect. Thus, we grow together and like bees we share what we learn and do to become more brothers and sisters.

Prayer

Loving God, help us to see and rejoice in the goodness of each other. In doing so, we continue to grow together and support one another like brothers and sisters. Amen.
