We feel happy when we do something good and see that we have made others happy too. Real happiness is found not in the things that we have or that we do, but when we do good actions to others, when we love and when we trust in God. When we do this and others do the same as we do, we will be living in unity and harmony brings happiness.

As we have just heard, true happiness does not come from what we gain, from our relationships or from what we do, but every one of us must work for it and this takes time. True happiness is being happy at heart. Nothing and nobody can take true happiness from us. True happiness does not end after a while but remains in our heart. We experience true happiness when we recognise the real purpose of our life.
Prayer
Loving God, give us the grace to experience real happiness even though we are surrounded by suffering and sadness. Remind us that real joy is within us, in our heart, through You, and so we can share it with others. Amen.
