Introduction

Immigrants are those people who leave their native country to start living a new life in another country. They decide to do this because they face difficulties and could not live in their country anymore, so they travel to another country to live a better life. Let us listen to this story:

Baby Jesus passed through the same experience as these people. He was born in Bethlehem. Then together with the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph, he went to stay in Nazareth. These people make these decisions in order to help their families to live a better life; adults go to work and the children will be able to go to school to be educated.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for our home, our family and for all those who take care of us. Take care of all the children and people who are travelling to another country. Lead them in peace in their new home. Amen.

Introduction

Immigrants leave their country to start living a better life in another country. They do this because they really have no choice. Some will need to find a decent job to earn a living, others leave for faith reasons, because of politics or because of economical problems. Numerous children suffer when they pass through this difficult situation and they are in need of support. Let us listen to this song together:

Immigrants are found all around the world. Immigration started to take place long ago for different reasons. Jesus Christ also experienced this situation when he was still a baby. He was born in Bethlehem. Not long after, Mary and Joseph escaped to Egypt to protect Jesus from Herod. Then they continued to travel to settle in Nazareth. It was necessary that these people leave their country, they had no choice. It was their right to live a better life.

Prayer

Dear Lord, please help the immigrants who are settling in Malta in these days. Give us wisdom to understand the sacrifices they make to adapt and help us to be more aware of their needs. Amen.

Introduction

Immigrants help us to recognize what the real needs of life are. They decide to leave their native country to live in another country even if they have to travel long distances. They wish to live a new and better life, to feel better and also to be able to help others. Let us watch this video to understand the experiences of these youths who have emigrated:

Nowadays, immigrants are found all around the globe, even in our country. They leave their country due to the various difficulties they ecounter. When they settle in the country they move into, they face other difficulties. They are in need of people who understand their situation and can help them to adapt to a different culture.  Jesus Christ passed through the same situation. He was born in Bethlehem to fulfil the prophecy of the prophet Micah. Shortly after, when he was almost two years old, Mary and Joseph took him to Egypt to escape from Herod. Then they continued to travel and settled in Nazareth. Like Jesus, these immigrants travel to start living in another country because they have no choice and sometimes, they are even forced to. How can I be of help to make their situation better?

Prayer

God our father, who loves us so much, take care of all the immigrants around the world. Help them not to be discouraged that their hopes and dreams will come true. Remind them that nothing is impossible for you. Amen.
