Dingli

SDS were invited to host various storytelling sessions at St Nicholas College, Dingli Primary. But why do we tell stories to children? How can storytelling sessions help children to reflect and pray?

Storytelling helps children pray by connecting the stories to their own lives and showing them how to talk to God. Through listening and imagining, they see how others have talked to and trusted God, and they discover new ways to express their thoughts and feelings to Him. Stories make prayer real, relatable, and easier to understand.

Year 1 to 6 children at Dingli Primary joined reflective storytelling with activities like Sorry Sand 🏖️, One World, and Be Still 🌄 to explore forgiveness 💞, share hope 🙏, and enjoy stillness 🕊️.

Sorry Sand

In this prayer space one is given the opportunity to reflect on the unkind actions we made and invited to pray for forgiveness.

Pray for the World

This prayer space encourages one to look at the world map and think of family and friends living away and pray for them and their countries.

Be Still

This is a place to be still. To be at peace. There is no need to talk, no need to do anything.
