Look at the piece of Christmas art, oddly called JWSB (Banksy, 2004). Showing a crucified Jesus With Shopping Bags, the artist depicted how the consumerism and materialism associated with Christmas can kill the Christian spirit.

  • Take some time to think about your “shopping list” this Christmas.
  • Look at a representation of JWSB and consider whether your list could buy you everlasting joy this Christmas.
  • If you wish to rise above the consumeristic and materialistic tendencies in exchange for a more meaningful Christmas this year: take a sticky note, write your decision, and attach it to JWSB.

XIRI TAL-MILIED
Ħares lejn il-biċċa xogħol artistika, bl-isem stramb ta’ JWSB. Billi juri lil Ġesù mislub bil-basktijiet tax-xiri – Jesus With Shopping Bags – l’artist xtaqt ifisser kif il-konsumeriżmu u l-materjaliżmu assoċjat mal-Milied jista’ joqtol l-ispirtu Nisrani.

  • Ħu ftit ħin biex taħseb fuq “il-lista tax-xiri” li għandek għal dan il-Milied.
  • Ħares lejn ir-rapreżentazzjoni ta’ JWSB u kkunsidra jekk tistax bil-lista tiegħek qatt tixtri l-ferħ veru dan il-Milied.
  • Jekk tixtieq li tgħola ‘l fuq mit-tendenzi konsumeristi u materjalisti, bi tpartit ma’ Milied aktar bis-sens din is-sena: ħu sticky note, ikteb id-deċiżżjoni tiegħek, u weħħilha ma’ JWSB.
