Dear Friends,
Advent Project with Archbishop of YorkYouth TrustIf you are looking for resources to use during advent, we have partnered with the Archbishop of York Youth Trust to bring you 4 weeks of content to help pupils explore moments of stillness in the Christmas story. The resource encourages pupils to take time to reflect and create ‘sacred spaces’ within the busyness of Christmas through simple activities. Download the free resource here, in time for Advent. |
Pray DayWe’ve all experienced the limitation of the lockdown restrictions over recent months, and for many of us that’s included not being able to serve schools by hosting prayer spaces in the usual ways. However, what we can always do is pray for our schools! Why not prayer walk the schools of your town? You could ask teachers what their needs are and how you can pray for them in this next season. Our team in Ireland are planning a whole week of prayer for their schools. Our friends at Pray For Schools are hosting ‘Pray Day’ on the 17th of November, 2020 with schools and organisations across the UK taking part. I will be contributing to the 5:30pm (GMT) Zoom prayer meeting. Please join me by registering your interest. |
Mental HealthAs the nation enters into a second lockdown, it is more important than ever to consider the mental health and wellbeing of pupils, schools workers, teachers and volunteers. Dr Kate Middleton’s sessions from our recent ‘New Hope Conference’ were some of the most popular seminars. She is a psychologist and director of the Mind and Soul Foundation who brought some brilliant information about ‘Loss and Lockdown’ and ‘Release and the new Normal’. If you didn’t catch them live you may want to check out her seminars on the New Hope YouTube channel. |
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
