Maltese

The Seminar on Prayer Spaces for Youth Leaders, Catechists and Pastoral Teams, organised by KDŻG and offered by Spiritual Development in Schools-Malta, was an enriching opportunity for participants to explore creative and meaningful ways of nurturing spirituality among children and young people. Bringing together those involved in youth ministry, catechesis, and pastoral care, the seminar focused on how prayer spaces can become welcoming environments where young people feel free to reflect, express themselves, and encounter God in personal and relevant ways.

Throughout the seminar, participants were introduced to prayer spaces as interactive and reflective environments that engage the whole person—mind, heart, and senses. Through practical examples and hands-on experiences, leaders explored how simple symbols, creative activities, silence, music, and guided reflection can help young people express their thoughts, hopes, worries, and prayers.

A key emphasis of the seminar was the importance of creating inclusive spaces that respect different stages of faith development and encourage personal participation rather than passive observation. Prayer spaces were presented not as fixed models but as flexible experiences adaptable to parish, school, and youth group contexts, helping young people deepen their relationships with themselves, others, the world, and God.

The seminar also provided a valuable opportunity to share experiences, build connections, and strengthen collaboration among pastoral teams. Participants left inspired and equipped with practical ideas and renewed motivation to create prayer experiences that speak to the realities and questions of today’s young people, helping them discover prayer as a living and meaningful part of everyday life.
