Day 15 - Joyful Sunday
BIBLE VERSE
Rejoice in the Lord always, Again I will say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)
REFLECTION
The third Sunday of Advent is known as Joyful Sunday! It is meant to remind us of the joy that the birth of Jesus brings into the world, as well as the joy that the faithful seek in times of darkness. This Sunday is symbolised with the colour pink. Can you guess why? The pink or glimpses of it in the skies in the morning are a sure sign that the sun will soon rise. Just as the same way Joyful Sunday uses pink because Christmas is around the corner! The wait is not in vain, there is a reason for joy and for hope!
ACTIVITY
Have you ever seen a sunrise at all? Your next activity is set for tomorrow morning: wake up before daybreak and make sure you look at the right direction. Visibility-permitting you will see a pink sunrise, but in any case, you are going to wait in expectancy. As you look sharply on the horizon ask God to give you expectant faith this Advent. Let God infuse you with joy as you finally start seeing the pink or the light of the sunrise. What is it that you are hopeful for this Christmas? Speak to Jesus about it. The rising sun is a sure sign of his coming.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for the wonderful signs you give us of your Presence and Power. Give me the eyes and ears to perceive them! Thank you for the people you give me as companions and in whom I find solace when joy seems to be retarding. Bless them and many others, also through my own example and faith in you, my perfect joy.
