Welcome

The SLT or any educator who is conducting the assembly will address the students positively saying Good morning to all. One can start this assembly stop for a moment of silence to be mindful of the present moment. Then make the sign of the cross: “In the name of the Father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”

Introduction

This week we are celebrating St Agatha. Saint Agatha was a young saint from Sicily who gave her life for Jesus. It is said that Saint Agatha lived in Malta for some time and she also helped us escape from a big Turk’s attack. She is the patron saint of Malta, which means she watches over the island and takes care of it. Now, let us watch this clip together.

Watch

Ask the students what they liked about the clip.

Reflective Thought

St Agatha is watching over the beautiful islands we just saw, our islands. It is important that we respect our country – the land, the people, nature, and our traditions.

Prayer

Dear God, we thank you for St Agatha as patron of Malta. We thank you for our country and the many beautiful things it has to offer. Amen.
