Welcome

The SLT or any educator who is conducting the assembly will address the students positively saying Good morning to all. One can start this assembly with the sign of the cross: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”

Introduction

As you all know this week we had the mid-term holidays. During these holidays we celebrated All Saints and All Souls Days. Let’s watch together this short video that speaks about one of these feasts.

Watch

Ask kids to stop for a few seconds and think about what they just saw.

Reflective Thought

This year during the month of November we are going to celebrate more the feast we celebrated on the 1st of November dedicated to All The Saints. We are going to thank God for all the saints. Saints can be family members or friends who passed away and are next to God because they respected and loved:
a. God, b. others and c. every living thing.
Now it’s our turn to love them and pay them back respect by thanking God for them and following their example.

Prayer

Dear God we thank you for this day. We thank you for all the saints who helped us to get to know you more and showed us how to Love and Respect you, one another and all of creation. We pray that we become saints like them by following their example.

Reflective Thought

Usually during the month of November we think of and pray for those dear to us who passed away. On the 2nd of November we celebrated All Souls Day. However, during your mid-term holidays we celebrated another very important feast known as All Saints Day. We celebrated this feast on the 1st of November. This year during the month of November we are going to be thankful for all the saints. Saints can be family members or friends who passed away and are next to God because they respected and loved
a. God, b. others, c. and every living thing.

Prayer

Dear God we thank you for this day. We ask you to grant eternal peace to all those who passed away. We want to thank you also for some of these holy people we have known. Thank you for all the saints who showed us how to Love and Respect you, one another and all of creation. We pray that we become holy like them by following their example in all we think, say and do.

Introduction

I hope you all had a restful break during these past mid-term holidays. These past days remind us of two paths in life which one day we all experience; the paths of dead and life. The culture of respecting the dead is growing among us as we are going to see in this link:

Reflective Thought

These celebrations remind us of the immense value and impact our life has on earth. Our spirit carries on. Our vibes and beliefs stay alive in the hearts, minds and actions of those whom we met during our life on Earth. Honouring the dead is very popular in various cultures worldwide and it promotes the good practice of paying respect to those who were dear to us and passed away. One way in which we are going to show respect for the dead, this morning, along this month and throughout the rest of our lives is by praying for them to rest in Eternal Peace.

Prayer

O merciful God, we ask you to grant unto all souls eternal rest, let your perpetual light shine upon them.
