Pause. Reflect. Pray.
Among Valletta’s music, colour and celebration, step into a peaceful space for stillness, reflection and prayer.
On Saturday, 3 October 2026, Valletta comes alive for Notte Bianca, Malta’s annual celebration of arts and culture. During this special evening, the SDS and Prayer Spaces team invites children, young people, families and adults to visit our Prayer Spaces.
A quiet moment in a busy city
Prayer Spaces offer a welcoming pause from the lively streets. Simple, creative activities invite visitors to reflect on gratitude, relationships, forgiveness, peace, hope, care for creation and their relationship with God.
Visitors choose their own path through the space. You might write a prayer, draw a response, place a thought within a shared display or sit quietly for a few moments. Complete one activity or explore the whole experience at your own pace.
Everyone is welcome
Prayer Spaces are suitable for children, young people and adults. No previous experience of prayer is needed. Each activity includes a simple explanation, and every response is personal and voluntary.
Come alone or visit with your family and friends. Stay for five minutes or spend more time reflecting. Whatever your age or background, this space offers an opportunity to pause, listen and become more aware of God’s presence.
Together in prayer
This experience forms part of the SDS theme Togetherness. Prayer helps us recognise our connection with God, with one another and with the whole of creation.
Through shared reflection, silence and prayer, we remember people who are lonely, suffering or in need. We give thanks for those who walk beside us, and we consider how our choices might bring peace, healing and hope to others.
This event is part of the Prayer Spaces programme.
