Day 13

Today is the feast of St. Lucy. Lucy means light. She used to feed persecuted Christians who were in hiding by taking them food in the cover of darkness, wearing some candles on her head to be able to see the way. She died a martyr because she refused to renounce her faith. Her eyes were gouged before she was killed as part of the torture. She is in fact revered as patron saint of the blind.

ACTIVITY

Think of ways in which you can be a good example to others, a light like St. Lucy, and put this into practice today.

PRAYER

Dear God, give me the courage to do what is right and just even if I might look bad in the eyes of my friends. Help me be a good example to others so that I may bring them closer to you. Amen
