The rhythm of the Christian calendar holds many treasures, with each month bearing its unique significance and meaning. The Season of Creation, from September 1st, which marks the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, until October 4th, the feast of St Francis of Assisi, was introduced by Pope Francis through his encyclical ‘Laudato Si<\/strong><\/a>‘. It is an ecumenical initiative which invites Christians around the world to deepen their relationship with God the Creator<\/strong>, with one another, and with the world entrusted to our care. Concluding with the feast of St Francis, this period calls on us to celebrate not only the splendour of creation, but also the boundless love of God reflected in it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season of Creation 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, the Season of Creation takes on particular significance as the Church marks the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, a saint whose life continues to inspire care for creation, simplicity, fraternity and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark this year\u2019s Season of Creation, the Interdiocesan Commission for Promoting Integral Human Development is launching a campaign to raise awareness that care for creation is not peripheral to Christian faith, but an integral part of our Christian responsibility. The campaign follows a simple progression:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
