MORE: A Journey Beyond the Classroom<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the 15th July 2026, the SDS team were invited to host a special session of +MORE, a transitional programme for Year 11 students, for a small group of students from the Lasallian Chaplaincy Group of Stella Maris College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through small group discussions, guided moments of stillness, and prayer spaces, the programme intended to invite students to navigate this transition with a sense of expectation and awe, encouraging them to consider questions of meaning, purpose, belonging, and faith on a new level as they move into life beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immeasurably than all we ask or imagine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After a light exercise to set the necessary tone for a participatory morning, the session started with a prayerful moment prompted by the inspirational text from the Letter to the Ephesians, chapter 3:20, which refers to a special “power” to comprehend, to experience, and to accomplish “abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trusting that every end also brings new beginnings, students were invited to consider navigating towards new horizons with the confidence that, when God is on our side, there is always “more” to life than what we can produce through our own capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The True, the Good, and the Beautiful<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Thus, there are aspects of life that, rather than inventing or working out, we must literally discover, like a treasure hidden in a field. For this reason, the first part of the session was based on the sharing and discussion of important points from Christian thought and practice, which have long maintained that certain aspects of life are intended to compel us to move forward, ultimately in search of God, in whom we find ultimate Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is for this reason that each student was invited never to abandon the spirit of the learner. Quite often, one must learn anew how to listen to Jesus as the Shepherd of our soul and follow in His footsteps, especially with the help of those who love us and are able to guide us. In this tone, students were invited also to be grateful of the many years of schooling and for their educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There must be more<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They say that the longest journey is the one from the mind to the heart, but the moment we discover how much the true value of “love”, “success”, and “meaning” can easily escape us, it leaves us wanting “more”\u2014not just of understanding but also of self-fulfilment. For this reason, at the heart of our session with the youths, we took time to help each other quiet down and take a favourable position for personal reflection and prayer. At this point, our programme made way for a Prayer Spaces session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
