Some years ago, I participated in a Safeguarding course. Do I have to participate again? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes<\/strong>. Through its updated Safeguarding Policy, the Safeguarding Commission<\/a> has established new operating standards to support the Archdiocese of Malta in its ongoing commitment to provide high\u2011quality pastoral work. Among these standards is the requirement for regular, high\u2011quality safeguarding formation, informed by best practice and delivered by the Safeguarding Commission.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All Church personnel receive adequate safeguarding training during their induction, and every three years following such induction to integrate safeguarding principles in their day-to-day practice, and to share research and best practices in this field.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are offering the standard Safeguarding course within the Diocese of Malta: the Award in Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults<\/strong>, delivered by the Pastoral Formation Institute in collaboration with the Safeguarding Commission. Upon successful completion, you will receive an MQF Level 4 certificate recognised by the Archdiocese of Malta, the State, and employers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course covers key safeguarding principles and practical measures for fostering safe pastoral environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the programme, you will be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2696\ufe0f Understand legal duties under relevant child protection legislation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udde3\ufe0f Respond appropriately to disclosures<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\udded Take the correct steps when concerns arise<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\udd1d Maintain professional boundaries<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are required to attend only one in-person<\/strong> session, and you may select the one that best fits your schedule.
